Low-profile Stage Wedge/Mains Speaker with 700W Amp

Are you a performer who travels with your own PA? A guitarist looking for a better way to monitor your modeler onstage? Then the low-profile Electro-Voice PXM-12MP from Sweetwater is a smart multitasker that makes a sound investment. On the one hand, the PXM-12MP is a rock-solid wedge for traditional monitoring purposes. Its 12" coaxial driver and 55° firing angle supply a crisp full-range response in a wide arc, which means whether you're footing-up for a solo or heading downstage for a drink, you'll still be able to hear yourself clearly. But let's stay you're playing out and just want something easy you can throw up on a speaker stand. The PXM-12MP's pole mount lets you use this speaker as a short-throw mains speaker, with a robust 700-watt Class D power amp and powerful onboard DSP to deliver rich sound to all listeners in the first few rows. A rugged steel grille and integrated cable management round out the package.

Low-profile design

Unlike traditional wedges, which require space for both a woofer and HF driver, the PXM-12MP sports a coaxial design to reduce floor space requirements. This helps improve sight lines and stage safety. One additional feature we at Sweetwater were quick to note is the integrated cable management, which gives your monitor a secure footing onstage.

Guitar Cab mode

Guitar player? The Electro-Voice PXM-12MP does "FRFR" (Full Range/Flat Response) to support your amp modeler's onboard cab IRs and cabinet emulations. But for players who want to a more traditional response, you can also dial up a Guitar Cab mode within the PXM-12MP's presets. This mode reduces top-end fizz when using amps and modelers without cabinet emulation.

Electro-Voice PXM-12MP 700W Powered 12" Floor Monitor Features:

  • Small footprint — perfect for players who pack their own PA gear
  • Clean, robust 700-watt Class D internal power amp

  • Rugged steel grille can take a boot without denting
  • Doubles as a short-throw mains speaker

PXM-12MP

Good solution for modeling applications, sounds fat full and in your face

Great Compact Monitor

This monitor is co-axial meaning the woofer and Tweeter horn are super imposed…(co-located).
This allows them to make a compact speaker that is loud and clear… It has all the features you need for Duets guitar vocal with backing tracks or stage monitor. JBL doesn't have anything like it in small size and power… The Monitor is priced at the higher end of the scale for speaker of this type, but if you want the quality and compact size it will cost alittle more.. This great for small Clubs with little stage space…

PXM-12MP Powered Monitor

I can't say enough about the build quality, power and sound coming from these monitors. I bought 2 for my small PA system and I'm pretty sure I'll buy one more for the drum monitor as well. Great investment.

great piece of gear and sounds wonderful

AWESOME Sound!

I use an FM9 modeler for guitar playing mostly 80's rock (hair band).
Up until now, I used a Line 6 Powercab. It's pretty good.
But this little EV??? WOW!
Very loud. And sounds incredible!
I have played it with my band (which includes another guitarist)...and the band is pretty loud (especially the drummer). Which for the music we play is pretty much the way you would expect it to be. You don't play "Metal Health" at low volume. lol
I turned this thing up halfway on the master and halfway on the channel (it has a few inputs with separate volume controls so you can mix stuff if you wanted to). And it was loud and proud!
The coaxial speaker just sounds so much smoother than the Powercabs speaker + tweeter.
I highly recommend this. It's expensive, but worth every penny.
