Mid-weight Hideaway Boom Stand from Gibraltar

For features, weight, and value, you can't go wrong with the Gibraltar 5709 boom cymbal stand. The Gibraltar 5709's double-braced tripod base gives you security you can count on, whether you're shredding onstage or tracking in the studio. And Gibraltar's exclusive round rubber non-slip feet help keep your cymbals from walking and rocking as you play. A hideaway boom arm helps conserve space for those occasions when a straight stand is all you need. And thanks to its metal-on-metal-eliminating nylon collar inserts, the Gibraltar 5709 remains silent in any performance environment. If you're looking for a mid-weight snare stand that can go the distance, stage to studio, drummers at Sweetwater stand behind the Gibraltar 5709 mid-weight boom cymbal stand.

Gibraltar hardware is built like a rock

I'm a longtime user of Gibraltar Hardware and Pedals, having used their rack system and Intruder pedals for more than 20 years. I have four complete sets of drums, three of which are equipped with rack systems for heavy duty touring and stability. My fourth kit is more of a "grab and go" kit for smaller local gigs, spur of the moment studio sessions and so on, so that kit is equipped with tripod-style floor stands. That way I'm not depending on a trailer or band truck, I can just toss the ready kit in soft cases and put everything in the back of my SUV and go to the gig. As always, the Gibraltar floor stands offer the stability and adjustments for heights and angles that I need without having to haul the bulk load of a rack and road cases. And, the price won't break your wallet or melt your credit card! I highly recommend Gibraltar hardware!

Medium Weight? VERY Solid!

Man oh man I am verrry please with this purchase. Very solid for "medium" duty, made well with great design. Honestly these are the best boom stands I have ever owned in my life. As long as you are not booming a 24" or bigger power ride sky high Nicko McBrain style then you should be golden. I used to buy only name brand matching hardware for my kits but I am 100% sold on Gibraltar quality now for cymbal stands and some other hardware they have. I don't have experience with their bass drum pedals but have been super stoked with spurs, stands and connecting add-ons.

Solid 'Multi-Talented' Stands

I bought 5 of these stands and they are great! They work well for heavy rides, large china cymbals in awkward positions, and of course the splash and crash cymbals! I've added accessory boom arms and clamps on to them as well. I don't expect that they'll scratch or wear prematurely in any way. I even hang some of my handheld percussion items from the wing nuts. Only very minor complaint is adjusting the boom arm and rotation simultaneously is kinda tricky. The points of angle adjustment do use gear teeth, which I like for their fail-proof'ness'!
