Good sounding bongos for recording. They have a bold full sound for the sizes. Well made fiberglass shells that should withstand temperature and humidity changes. Nice heads and comfortable on the hands rims. Can't go wrong at this price point.

I thought these might feel a little cheap since they were really inexpensive compared to many others. They are nice and hefty and are quite tunable. These would be a great first set of bongos or even bongos to travel with and you won't have to worry about them getting damaged. After tightening the heads a bit I was able to get a great sound using them for recording.

I love em.. great sound

Tried and bought these on a whim at a competitor (though I"ve purchased from Sweetwater and they ARE excellent!). Was amazed by the top-quality, real hide heads, and the sound—exactly like what we expect from bongos we hear on the radio, or other recordings. Whether watching an old "50s-era Troubled Jazzbo flick with some big-name cameos, or a video of the 2018 Monterrey Jazz Festival, these deliver what you hear. Maybe they lack the player"s perception of the resonance of fine Thai Oak, but your audience will just hear great, classic bongos, period. Well made, can take some road abuse, and like a car with a manual transmission, unlikely to disappear, compared to the... Pearl Elites... Buy with great confidence!
