100% maple shells are the industry standard

Maple has long been a favorite shell wood of both drum manufacturers and players. Its boosted low end and smooth mids and highs are suited for just about any style of music. Shell and hardware are built tough and toneful

The attention to detail put into Pearl's Decade Maple series far surpasses its rock-bottom price point. The thin 5.4mm shells are built with Pearl's SST technology with overlapping scarf-joint seams and proprietary AcoustiGlue. Both the interiors of the shells and the bearing edges are hand treated. Great, solid kit.

Several options of maple in this price point now, but once you replace the stock heads on these, they really come to life and sound great! For my sound preference (boomy tone but not too much low end), these took the cake. The snare has a really nice crack to it and doesn't overwhelm the toms. I replaced the stock heads with G2 clear for my batters and G1's (resonant). Also added an 16 x 18 floor tom make er' a 6 piece. Good response and sustain from the shells, and as usual with Pearl, these are very well built and solid. Very happy and would definitely recommend!

The best reason to play drums!

I needed a gigging kit that was easier to setup and tear down, provided consistently good tones, and could keep my precious masters maple complete safe and sound in my studio.

After watching lots of YouTube videos, this kit seemed to fit the bill and I'm happy with how it turned out. Having the bass drum mounted toms (with memory locks), I know that my setup will be identical every single time.

The drums tuned up quite easily and seem to stay in tune relatively well, providing good tonality and the versatility you need when playing multiple genres in the same evening.

I paired the kit with the 900 series hardware, which seems very nice and sturdy as well. I put coated G2s on the toms, coated G1 on the snare, heavyweight Emad on the kick, and all of the above sound wonderful.

Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and look forward to many happy years behind this beauty. Thanks to Christian Baer and Sweetwater for always being such a great help!

The Sounds I've Been Waiting For!

Replaced my 40-year-old Tama set with a Pearl Decade Maple 5 piece. Replaced the stock heads with Remo Emperor coated and WOW! The sound produced by this kit is absolutely amazing. Love it so much, I've ordered the expansion pack to make it 7 piece. The jury is still out on the snare drum however. If the linked video is available, do note this was recorded with the snare disengaged.

These drums sound amazing!

I couldn't be happier with my purchase. These drums sound so awesome. I'm not worthy of them yet, but I wanted to purchase a kit that I couldn't outgrow anytime soon. I had a friend over who has been playing for years and he rocked them for me and showed me the potential of these drums. I'm a complete amateur, I've only been playing for about 2 months. That being said, I had no issues tuning them. They are incredibly responsive and the tones are dynamite! I paired them with zildjian a customs and added Remo coated ambassador heads on the toms, an Evans dry st for the snare and emad on the bass drum. Dillon was awesome and sent me some moon gels too. I love Sweetwater and pearl drums!

Pearl Decade Maple

I just received this kit on Friday and already love it. The shipping was very fast, although I did get the set in two different boxes on two different days. I was confused on why they both did not come the same day. Anyway, the set was very easy to set up and sounded great after some tuning. The finish on the kit was very well done and looks great. The kit came very clean as well. Adam called me the day after ordering to ask me a couple of questions and he was very kind and professional. This was my first time actually buying a brand new drum set, but after doing a lot of research and hearing such good things about Sweetwater I know what and who to buy from. I will be buying from Sweetwater again for sure!!
