Add Extreme Impact to Your Snare Drum

Beef up your snare sound with a Remo Coated Powerstroke 77 batter head. If you enjoy big, meaty snare tone with old-school pop and spank, then this 2-ply drumhead's for you. Bolstering the Coated Powerstroke 77 snare drum head's dual 7-mil Mylar plies are a narrow 7-mil underlay ring and a 5-mil clear center dot, two cool features the drummers at Sweetwater happily recommend. Together, these reduce overtones and focus your sound, while adding serious durability. Whether you're tracing ghost notes along the edge or wailing away on the sweet spot, your Remo Coated Powerstroke 77 batter head will deliver exceptional tone and response.

Remo Powerstroke 77 Coated Snare Head Features:
  • Snare batter head with 2 plies of 7-mil Mylar construction
  • Small 7-mil underlay ring (P3 style) reduces overtones
  • A 5-mil clear center dot provides added durability
  • Excellent playing response from center to edge
If you want punch and pop from your snare, then Remo's Coated Powerstroke 77 is for you!

I love this drumhead

The Remo Powerstroke P77 is the best snare drum head on the market. It's super durable. It's sounds great! Its awesome! I'm using this head live and in studio, it's perfect for my playing style. Thank You Sweetwater & Remo!

Good for anything

I can crank it, or tune it low, but it still sounds great!

Best head I've found so far for any kind of aggressive/hard hitting drumming

Been playing for over 3 decades and only within the last couple years have I found this head.
It's quickly become my go-to head for any kind of playing where I know I'm going to be really laying into the head.
Metal, Rock, Funk, Blues and especially Punk all benefit from me using this head, regardless of the snare to which it's applied.
The short story version is that this head (again, so far) is best bang-for-buck of durability, cost, sound and performance that I've found on the market.

Not necessarily good for Jazz or Symphonic playing, but everything else? I know what I'm stocking up on in my studio.

Always Reigns Supreme

The Remo P77 is by far the most versatile and slept on snare head in the game. I've swapped all around from Controlled Sounds, Emperors, Ambassadors, Powerstrokes, vintage coated, and that's just from Remo. Evans I've used the HD Dry, St Dry, Heavyweight Dry, G1, G12's, G2's, Calftones, UV1's, UV2's, and strata's. Aquarians I've tried less of but still quite a bit like the Texture Coated, the Triple Threat, Coated Reverse, and High Velocity. I've re-fallen in love with that P77. I can get it super high, super low, super ringy, super dry, and they last forever. Cannot rec them more

SIMPLY THE BEST

I first got this head for my 14" snare after I played a gig back in 2017 and the snare on the kit sounded better than my own. hahaha That had never happened before! Since then I've got it in 12" and 10" for my other two snares and boy... I AM LIVING. On the 12" I have a Tama stainless steel that it absolutely sings on! Any tuning. High to low. The 14 as well. I've cranked it all the way up and detuned it right before the ripples would start and everytime the tones these heads give are JUST RIGHT. I've been wanting to get one for my 13" snare aswell but I cant lie, I have an ambassador coated and a black X dot for it and either one of them already do the job. REMO IS THE BEST

Unless you specifically want another sound this has got to be the most versatile snare head on the market!
I've been drumming for over 20 years. I promise you this wont disappoint.
