Great!

They're great, especially for the price. Small and unobtrusive, but solidly built with plenty of weight. They do have a somewhat pronounced mids peak, which is great for toms, but not so good for things like vocals. The clip is hard to get on some drums, but I have had success with both Pearl and Gretsch rims. Overall, for $, these are absolutely worth it.

Toms bursting

I'm recording an album. PGA 56s bring the snap, tone, and attack to your DAW. I need em' Plus they're tough as hell!

Shure PGA56 Drum Mics

Good little mics, sound good and are relatively unobtrusive. I'm using three for my three toms (one small, two floor). No issues, they just work and the price is more than affordable. Kudos to Sweetwater for the normal excellent service and surprisingly fast shipping.

Great all purpose mic from Shure

I'm the sound engineer for a local, theatrical arts building. I bought a PGA56, for my own collection, and to use at gigs. I've used it on snare drums several times. But I really found out, after needing an extra horn mic, that it was an awesome saxophone mic, put it on a straight stand, and the artist got it pointed perfectly. It easily handled the level, and had a nice, fat, warm tone. I would use it on anything. I like the size and feel, it looks and sounds like a Shure mic.
