Best hi hats I’ve recorded.

I'm not a drummer, I'm a recording engineer. I love the sound of these hihats. These are the first hihats I reach for most of the time, and all the drummers drool over them. Im considering getting the crashes and ride next. Great investment for studio owners.

Love these hats!

Honestly, I was a little put off by the high price of these K Constantinople hi-hats at first, but the more I researched performance videos of various drummers playing them I fell in love with their sound. I realized that most other models were not that far away in price and I began to think of them as more of an investment in the sound I was looking for. What blew me away the most was how much better they sound in person and as a bonus they are beautiful in appearance also. When you're ready to upgrade, why not try the top of the line?

Top of The Line Hats

I don't give this high rating to often but these hats are awesome! Crisp, articulate and lively brilliant sound is what you get from these hi hats. By far the best sounding hats I've ever played.

The Best Hihats for Recording.

The Zildjian K Constantinople hihats are perfect for recording most genres. They are smooth and not too loud and sit well in the mix. After all the years of wasting money an cymbals for the studio this is wear I ended up.

1. K Constantinople hihats
2. Crashes- Zildjian K Dark thins (sizes 16" and 17" Sit well in the mix and get out of the way quickly)
3. 20" K heavy ride. Nice definition and clear bell. Underrated and great for recording.

Best hi-hats I've ever heard

I was looking to upgrade my hi-hats on my kit, because I've been, frankly, playing fairly cheap ones for too long. I've always been a fan of Zildjian products and I was potentially interested in getting some K-Customs to replace my old ones, until I heard these. They sounded great on the Zildjian videos I watched, as well as some other reviews, so I decided to take the plunge. The price point is pretty high, but this was exactly the hi-hat sound I was looking for.

The Constantinople series has a rather dark and warm quality to it, but it also had a layer of brightness that the K-Dark's didn't have. It's kind of a best of both worlds between the Dark's and K-Custom/A-Custom sound. I found the hi-hats could cut through the sound of my kit really well. Now, the manufacturer lists Jazz as the best style, but I play metal, Black Metal to be precise and when it comes to a hi-hat tone that complements the music I am performing, I think these are the best I've ever heard. The response to blasting patterns and sections simply sounds beautiful and I can't get enough of it!

A word of caution when it comes to these cymbals though. They're meticulously made, but they are a bit of a thinner metal, so if you find you're a heavy hitter behind the kit in the realms of metal then you might want to steer clear of these cymbals. You won't want to break something this expensive so soon.

Ask any drummer at Sweetwater, and chances are, we'll tell you that Zildjian represents the gold - or rather bronze - standard in cymbal making. Seriously, Avedis Zildjian may have been trying to make gold, but he did even better when he formulated what's arguably the best cymbal material on the planet. We've played virtually every type of Zildjian cymbal out there, and you won't find anyone at Sweetwater who wouldn't happily recommend their instruments to you, plus their sticks and other accessories are also pretty sweet. Whether you're grabbing your first S or ZBT pack or have saved up for the A or K series cymbals you've always wanted, Sweetwater is your source for all things Zildjian.
