Zildjian Low Volume Cymbals!

Zildjian L80 Low Volume cymbals are real cymbals that play at reduced volume - up to 80% less volume, thanks to a unique perforated pattern. That means you can play them exactly how you play any other cymbal, using any stick, mallet, or technique. The full decay is there, and they respond to your every playing nuance. Many Sweetwater drummers use L80 Low Volume cymbals with their acoustic kits for reduced volume in pit work or worship bands. And of course, they're the obvious solution for quiet rehearsals and late-night practice at home. Get real cymbal feel and sound at reduced volume, with Zildjian L80 Low Volume cymbals.

These cymbals may save my marriage!

I absolutely love these! I can now practice anytime I want without disturbing the neighbors (or my wife.) They have good stick response and feel just like regular cymbals without all of the resonating noise. I originally wanted the 14" high hat but it was out of stock, so I ordered this set with the 13" and was pleasantly surprised...it has a nice crisp, yet quiet sound. I can even practice without any hearing protection. These are a great investment for anyone who practices within earshot of neighbors or significant others. My photo includes the 20" ride I bought separately, but the 18" crash that comes in the pack is great as well.

Finally! I can play LOUD (but quiet) at any time of day

These are simply amazing. My son and I picked up drums together last winter, but got dinged by our HOA for being too loud. I tried Evans drum mutes, and those aren't bad on the drums. Unfortunately they changed the sound of the symbols from a ringing sound to a dull "buwat". Somehow, while quieter, it also stole the joy of playing drums away, and both of us started to lose interest. I finally caved and got a set of Zildjian L80 Low Volume cymbals (and a set of Remo Silent Stroke drumheads for everything but the bass drum - the Evans mute is good on that). WOW! We can now play all day - and all night - without worrying about waking the neighbors, without ear protection on, and without even waking each other up in the same house. And we can love playing again. While they don't have the same ring as regular symbols (they are a thinner sound), I will take that over the "buwat" any (and every) day of the week. Pretty sure they'd even work fine in an apartment building. I love my drums again.

Love the L80 Cymbals

I love these bad boys. They are literally 80% quieter. I would not record songs or play a venue show with them, but for practice and open mic stuff? Yeah, they're totally perfect. I went with the 13 inch hi hats because they give a slightly crisper tone than the 14 inch.

Low Volume good stick action!

I'm a Zildjian player from way back and really am impressed with these low volume issues, I plan on rounding out my drum kit with more of these to match my live setup.

Ask any drummer at Sweetwater, and chances are, we'll tell you that Zildjian represents the gold - or rather bronze - standard in cymbal making. Seriously, Avedis Zildjian may have been trying to make gold, but he did even better when he formulated what's arguably the best cymbal material on the planet. We've played virtually every type of Zildjian cymbal out there, and you won't find anyone at Sweetwater who wouldn't happily recommend their instruments to you, plus their sticks and other accessories are also pretty sweet. Whether you're grabbing your first S or ZBT pack or have saved up for the A or K series cymbals you've always wanted, Sweetwater is your source for all things Zildjian.
