Save your ears

These feels absolutely great. The rebound is contestant with playing on a normal cymbal and despite hitting them just as hard as I would any other cymbal I've yet to see any wear or warping.

The overall sound is a touch 'tinny' and the sustain on them is obviously limited, but for practice these beat out throwing mutes onto cymbals by far. Definitely allow some early morning/late night practice without fear of waking up the neighborhood or getting a noise complaint.

Highly recommend for use with the RTOMS for anyone in a situation where quieter practice is a must.

Low volume cymbals for apartment lifestyle

I bought these with the hope that I would have the closest thing to playing acoustic drums in my apartment (2nd floor). Along with the Silentstroke mesh drumheads from Remo, these cymbals worked out super well! I can't play them in the late evenings or the middle of the night but I can practice chops and along to songs during normal hours of the day. My neighbor says it just sounds like drums going off on TV! Still quiet enough that it doesn't really disturb anyone. Mason from Sweetwater followed up with me to make sure everything met my expectations. It's my first time doing business with SW and it was an awesome experience. Thanks!!

Awesome for Practice

These Cymbals work great for low volume practice. You actually get the feel of playing on real cymbals without blowing away your neighbors.
They also sound so good..........you could use them for a low volume acoustic gig.
Highly recommend!!

Love the low volume cymbals

Wonderful for practice! Combined with the new Roland pads and triggers you have a great practice kit. Ultralight stands help too.

They do their job

The Zildjian Low Volume ride cymbal and hi-hats do the job they were intended to do. The are much quieter than ordinary cymbals, but retain the weight and feel of ordinary cymbals.

With that said, I would only recommend these products for practicing with mesh drum heads or an amplified electronic kit. There is still a lot of "click/ping" noise from hitting them with sticks (which the neighbors will hear in an apartment or other attached housing) and they don't really sound like ordinary cymbals.

These products are not effective in a live music setting because they are too "low volume" and don't have a familiar crash or wash tone that compliments ordinary drums and percussion.

Ask any drummer at Sweetwater, and chances are, we'll tell you that Zildjian represents the gold - or rather bronze - standard in cymbal making. Seriously, Avedis Zildjian may have been trying to make gold, but he did even better when he formulated what's arguably the best cymbal material on the planet. We've played virtually every type of Zildjian cymbal out there, and you won't find anyone at Sweetwater who wouldn't happily recommend their instruments to you, plus their sticks and other accessories are also pretty sweet. Whether you're grabbing your first S or ZBT pack or have saved up for the A or K series cymbals you've always wanted, Sweetwater is your source for all things Zildjian.
