Gretsch 7-Piece Catalina Maple Shell Pack with Snare-Deep Cherry Burst

Far out! I've been drumming for 60 years now (started at 5 years old, first set was a pearl) and of course like everyone else I'm pretty good!!! Love this set!!! I've owned Ludwig's, Gretsch and a few others in the past. Truth be told, if one really knows how to tune a drum set, you need no more, but all kits need good tuning, however, with that said, on this set, I find it very easy to move around to get those hard licks out, facial expressions and all!!! It is one of the best set's I've ever had and recommend this set to any drummer, new, young or old, ok…….new, semipro or professional. If your good, you can make this set sing!!! It's all I honestly need! You can use it for everything, just jamming, practicing, recording or playing in front of thousands. I haven't miked it yet, but I know this set I'd going to be absolutely fantastic when I do! :)

Oh, and one more thing seriously: Just call Benjamin Nielsen! He took great care of me and won't try to sell you more than you actually need.

Gretsch Catalina 7 piece Maple

I've wanted this kit for some time now, but other things have happened that set me back. Well, my beautiful wife, unbeknownst to me, bought this set, stored it a my friend's house, and gave it to me for Christmas! You talk about shocked!!
My son helped me to put it together, and in return I gave him my oldie, but goodie, Mapex. Anyway, this is a fantastic kit. It's beautiful...sometimes I catch myself just staring at it. It sounds impressive. I've kept the original heads, which tuned right up, and those toms...I sound almost like Gene Krupa...yeah right!! This set offers up great musicality as the many drums are suitable for any genre of music one may like. the finish is flawless, and the price is perfect.
By the way, my wife was impressed by the level of customer service she received from Kevin Scott, and was very happy when she even got an email from him. Thanks, Kevin! Now, time to get back to laying down a funky beat!

You can’t go wrong with this kit!

These drums have the sound of my old 1950's jazz Gretsch kit. Modern mounts and nice wood finish. The deep Cherry look as good as they sound. They are set up in a studio and miked for recording. Easy to get a great sound. I was surprised especially considering the price. I highly recommend them!

That GREAT Gretsch Sound RULES!!

I've been playing this kit since 2012 and I love these drums. I bought these in 2012 and I DO NOT REGRET IT. With Evans Red Hydraulics for batters on all of the toms and the bass drum and Evans EC Resonants on the reso's, these drums sound absolutely FANTASTIC! I too use a Tune-Bot Studio drum tuner to tune my kit to get the most sustain out of the rack toms and they Fricking SING! When I bought these I initially bought a DW Performance kit, I took them home, set them up, and then I returned them the next day and I got this kit instead and I'm glad I did. This kit sounds and plays better then kits that cost $3,000 more. I've played this kit for 2hrs. a day, every day, since 2012 and they still look and play like I just bought them (I don't gig with this kit as I use a custom rack set-up that's HUGE!). Between the BEAUTIFUL Finish and the BEAUTIFUL Tones you can evoke from this kit, I say, BUY THIS KIT......you will NOT regret it. GRETSCH RULES!! and so does Brook Floyd, my Sweetwater Rep.
