WOW!

This pad is amazing. WELL worth the money! The red surface is a nicely rebounding gum rubber type surface, similar to an Evans Realfeel pad. The black surface is soft, almost pillow soft, for a great workout. The reverse side is very hard, almost like a counter top. There's a rim around the edge like you're playing on a real drum so you can cross stick or rim shot like you normally would.

I was really skeptical about paying this much but Rich has been an incredible inspiration to me. I'm really glad I did though because this pad has caused me to place my two old pads up for sale. I won't be playing anything else.

High quality solid pad

The red side feels like a regular vic firth practice pad. The black side is noce and soft great for practicing at night. I use it while the wife and kids are a sleep and I have no issues with disturbing them.

If you already have a practice pad with a gum rubber then the red will feel familiar. The black is nice tho. A bit more of a workout. Less rebound and quiet. If you want some boise and articulation just flip it over. Very versatile.

If I had to buy again tho I think i may have just gone with the all black pad because I plan on keeping my vic firth pad. If tou need one pad that can do a lot and is well made and durable. Buy this one. Worth the money.
